How did you become vegan or move towards this way of life?

I came across plant-based food when I started getting into Instagram. I had always been interested in food and so this new way of eating caught my attention. Pancakes without eggs? Chia seed puddings? Huh? I became curious as to how people made such beautiful food and of course how it tasted. As I researched more about the food, I began to understand the deeper meanings behind the lifestyle like the ethics and sustainability aspects that this movement addressed.. I transitioned slowly – over the course of five or so months – changing one meal at a time. Before I knew it, all I needed to let go was an egg that was I was having as a mid-afternoon snack. By that stage, I was on board with veganism and once I watched Gary Yourofsky’s “The Best Speech You Will Ever Hear” on YouTube, I knew this was something for life. It took some time for me to feel good on a vegan diet and it required a lot of researching and trial and error, and now I am happy to say that I feel energised, healthy and aligned with what I choose to eat. My interest in veganism resulted in me sharing my meals on social media and my website, where I have connected with some incredible humans and have been asked to cook on retreats around South Africa. Going vegan also landed me a job at The Fry Family Food Co. where I worked for two and a half years. I look forward to continue inspiring and learning from people from around the world, and seeing where my vegan journey continues to take me.
